Writing: Sukie

Over the last fifteen years I’ve contributed to the British garden quarterly HORTUS, dubbed ‘the New Yorker of garden writing. Publisher David Wheeler has given me great scope. I’ve written about historic gardens from Ukraine to Virginia and Boston, examined charismatic plants like Trillium, and reviewed inspiring books and exhibitions, including collaborative programs between The Arnold Arboretum and the Harvard Art Museums on Painting Edo, a dazzling display of plants rendered in Japan’s early modern period, many of which grow across the river in Harvard’s ‘museum of trees.’ Ask me about my latest good read!
