Studios
An artist’s studio is a supremely personal space. We’ve been lucky to collaborate with two inspiring artists to design two new buildings on the north and south shores of Massachusetts. Though each has a distinct character, these studios share challenges – capturing and controlling natural light and surface reflection; balancing windows and wall space for hanging, propping, and painting; and integrating lighting with care. LED lamping continues to change the world and how we see it; choosing appropriate lumens, temperature, and color rendering is key for all our work, but especially so when we light art.
